T

here is a kind of life Scripture describes as endless — a life that cannot be destroyed, interrupted, or corrupted. A life beyond limitation. A life sustained by God Himself.

Hebrews 7:16 says:

Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

Another translation calls it “the power of a life that cannot be destroyed.”

This is not ordinary life. This is the very life of God.

Many people think eternal life simply means going to heaven after death. But Jesus defined eternal life differently in John 17:3:

“And this is eternal life, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

Eternal life is not just about duration. It is about knowledge. It is about knowing God.

Death Entered Through Knowledge

In the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and through that act, death entered humanity.

Death was introduced through knowledge.

And death did not only mean physical dying. Death began expressing itself through corruption — sickness, fear, shame, lust, poverty, limitation, confusion, and sin. Man suddenly gained capacities he was never designed to carry. So if death came through knowledge, then life also comes through knowledge.

The more you know God, the more you express His life.

The Mystery of Melchizedek

Hebrews connects endless life with Melchizedek — the mysterious priest Abraham encountered in Genesis 14.

The Bible says Melchizedek brought bread and wine to Abraham. This was deeply symbolic. The bread and wine pointed to Jesus Christ — His flesh and His blood. It pointed to fellowship with the Word and fellowship with the Spirit.

Jesus later said in John 6:

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever.

Again, we see the language of endless life.

Melchizedek was not powered merely by laws and commandments. He represented a higher order — one sustained by revelation and divine life.

The More You Know, The More You Live

One of the greatest truths believers must understand is this:

The more you know God, the more you live.

Not intellectual knowledge alone, but revelation knowledge — the kind that transforms your consciousness.

Every expression of death is defeated by revelation.

When you truly know God as healer, healing stops being theory and becomes experience. When you know your authority in Christ, fear loses its grip. When you know the victory of Christ deeply, the enemy’s intimidation begins to lose power over your mind.

Jesus said:

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

God’s intention is not for believers to experience occasional victories. His intention is abundant life - a life that abides.

Eternal Life Is Meant To Affect Everyday Living

This life is not meant to remain abstract or theoretical. Eternal life should touch every area of our lives:

  • our marriages,

  • our ministry,

  • our work,

  • our health,

  • our decisions,

  • our relationships,

  • and our purpose.

God does not want us to build things that only survive temporarily. He wants us to live with eternity in view. That is why Scripture speaks about fruits that remain. Even David’s throne was spoken of as something that would continue beyond his lifetime. Endless life produces things that outlive you.

Tasting the Powers of the World to Come

Hebrews 6 speaks about believers who have “tasted the powers of the world to come.”

That means there are realities reserved for eternity that believers can begin to experience even now.

In the age to come:

  • there will be no sickness,

  • no sorrow,

  • no corruption,

  • and no death.

Yet Scripture says we can have a taste of that reality through fellowship with the Holy Spirit. This is why eternal life is not just a future promise. It is a present possibility.

Enoch and the Possibility of More

The Bible says Enoch walked with God and was not, because God took him. Enoch was growing in the knowledge of God. The more revelation he received, the more he expressed the life of God until he stepped into dimensions beyond ordinary human limitation. Scripture shows us repeatedly that there is always more available in God.

The limitation is often not God’s willingness, but our hunger, desire, and capacity for revelation.

Endless Life Is Possible

Many believers have already experienced dimensions of eternal life without realizing it.

Every victory over fear is an expression of life.
Every breakthrough over sin is an expression of life.
Every testimony of healing is an expression of life.

But God is calling us deeper. He is calling us beyond temporary manifestations into abiding realities. The more your mind captures the knowledge of God, the more His life finds expression in you.

Eternal life is possible. Not just after death — but now.

And the more you know Him, the more you live.
